6MPCA Advanced Melt Flow Tester with Techni-Test software
Ray-Ran, launches its latest Melt Flow Indexer, the 6MPCA which incorporates the innovative Techni-Test software.
The 6MPCA includes a host of new features, such as Highly Accurate Microprocessor Temperature Control; Dual Zone Heating; Single or Multi Slice Testing; High / Low Limit Settings; User Selectable Test Distance; Number of Slices; Pre Heat Time; Intuitive menu system with alphanumeric keypad & 4.75” LCD Screen . Built in RS232 and Ethernet connectivity.
The built in Microprocessor is able to offer a high degree of thermal accuracy over the twin heating zones to +/- 0.1oC, and with the added digital encoder which is accurate to +/-0.2mm of travel, making the 6MPCA the most accurate machine Ray-Ran has manufactured.
With Ray-Ran’s wealth of knowledge in modern manufacturing processes, they have been able to manufacture the 6MPCA with cutting edge technology at a greatly reduced price over previous models. The machine is smaller as well as lighter than before.
The software supplied as standard with the 6MPCA, has been completely rewritten and comes from Ray-Ran’s family of Techni-Test software which will be incorporated into all of Ray-Ran’s products.
The software allows the simultaneous display of up to 6 tests in graph form and up to 10 test results in tabular form. The software will allow for almost unlimited storage of test data, with the ability to retrieve previous test results into the current test screen for comparisons.

Model 2 CNC Profile Cutter
CNC Profile Cutting machine which is ideal for producing tensile test samples from underground thick wall pipes generally up to 100mm thick. The resulting specimens are ideally suited for testing on a Universal Tensile tester, also available from Ray-Ran in various combinations.
Cutting speeds, in the region of 2,800 to 28,000 rpm, give the desired surface finish and ensure that the temperature at the cutting surface does not affect the material characteristics.
The ball screws and slide ways provide excellent positional accuracy and low friction drives which are ideally matched to the Stepper Motor Drive Systems. The Advanced Micro-Stepping feature gives optimum cutter control when machining contours
The Ray-Ran dedicated CNC Milling Machine can offer X, Y and Z axis combinations to cater for most test sample sizes. Prewritten programs are available if required or the Flashcut software that is supplied with the model 2 CNC machine can automatically translate a DXF file (Autocad) into industry standard G-Code without the use of CAM.
Special polymer cutting tools are available which reduce the cutting surface temperature and give optimum surface finish. Other options available include a tool changing system to enable automatic tool changes to take place, automatic stop-start spindles, CAD-CAM software.
The Ray-Ran Model 2 CNC Milling machine comes complete with a bed size of 910mm x 480mm with an X axis of 600mm, a Y axis of 300mm and a Z axis of 175mm, other sizes are available upon request
